Another National Bridal Market has come and gone! What is National Bridal Market you may ask? It’s a huge buying event that we get to go to twice a year to pick out all of the dresses that will be in our store for the next season. Sounds like a dream right? Well it is!!! We always leave so excited and inspired by the magic that is bridal fashion. It’s definitely one of the best parts of our job, but it’s also a ton of work! We sort through hundreds of designers and thousands of gowns to hand select each dress that will make it onto the Miss Ruby racks. It is a whirlwind of beauty, inspiration, mimosas, and LOTS of dresses. Here is a little behind the scenes of what went down and what you can expect for Spring 2020!
One of our favorite parts of going to Market is connecting with all of our amazing designers and design reps! We chat with them almost on a daily basis through phone and email, but Market is usually the only time we get to see them in person. We really put an emphasis on the relationships we have with the brands we work with, so that makes the reunions extra sweet. We are also total bridal nerds, so we love to learn more about the behind the scenes of the design process.
Now for the details you are really waiting for: THE DRESSES! We love seeing what our designers create every season. Honestly, the dresses just keep getting better and better! We saw a huge variety of dresses and there is something coming for every bride. Here are a few of our faves:
Convertible Dresses
We saw so many gorgeous dresses that could easily be transformed to become almost a completely different dress! So fun for a bride that wants two looks and loves a little drama!
Ruffles
Can you believe ruffles are coming back? Well, they are… and to be honest we're not mad about it! This is such a fun way to bring a trendy detail to your big day!
Detailed Trains
2021 brides rejoice! Long, beautiful, detailed trains are not going anywhere! In fact, they are just getting longer and more dramatic!
Shoulder Details
A new trend that we saw a ton of is shoulder details! We saw it done in so many ways, but drawing the eye to the upper arm adds more depth and interest to some classic silhouettes.
Going to market always feeds our creative souls and reminds us why we love this industry so much! And we are so excited to bring you even more new, fun, and gorgeous wedding dresses! This is just a teeny glimpse into what to expect in store soon.
